Samsung ditched the Galaxy J series to bring a much improved Galaxy A series, at an affordable rate yet with premium features. The most premium of the new handsets so far is the Samsung Galaxy A80, which has been marketed with a stunning pop-up camera that rotates to switch between rear and front coverage.
For a mid-range smartphone, a triple camera setup is a mouth watering deal, especially having a 48MP sensor, an 8MP camera and a 3D depth lens as part of the array. But when you make the entire arrangement a pop-up and one that rotates, that’s even juicier.

The setup is designed in a way that when you tap the lens flip button in the camera app, the camera panel slides upwards and the whole unit rotates vertically to take the shots.
The camera being a pop-up means that the screen is completely edge to edge, with no notch and no hole-punch. A full display on a 6.7 inch super AMOLED screen is not a bad idea on any day, and given that the microphone is embedded below it and the fingerprint reader is also onscreen, it is an amazing playground.
The Galaxy A80 has the ability to do things faster than any mid-ranger you would think of. An octa-core CPU that consists of dual-core 2.2GHz and hexa-core 1.8GHz chips, running on 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage is something you can’t take for granted.
Another interesting feature on the Galaxy A80 is the 3700mAh battery, which comes with a 25W charging and an “intelligent battery” system. Samsung says the battery easily adapts to your routine and usage patterns to optimize consumption and save power.
