We’ve always asked MTN to give its users unlimited internet offerings, not once but twice and today, it seems Uganda’s telecom giant has finally answered the people’s prayers. MTN Unlimited Internet promises high speed internet anywhere across the country with no data limits*. MTN Uganda joins the Unlimited data bandwagon that includes; Smile Telecom and Africell Uganda.
Apart from basic web browsing, with Unlimited data users will be able to stream all the HD video they want, at any video quality with MTN’s wide coverage across Uganda. There are three packages (summarized in table below), you can get the MTN Unlimited Basic bundle at UGX 179,000 or the MTN Unlimited Premium bundles that costs UGX 330,000. Both prices match up with Smile Telecom’s current Unlimited data offering. The third is a midnight bundle, that costs UGX 99,000. Please be warned that Fair Usage Policy (FUP) will be applied on the above packages this means expects some throttling when you exceed a certain data limit. (*details about this to be given later).

How to activate MTN Unlimited Internet
You can switch to the new MTN Unlimited Internet by:
• Using airtime from your smartphone or other data device:
o Dial *150*55#OK and following the prompts
o Dial *160#OK and follow the prompts
o Using the MyMTN app
• Using your Mobile Money account:
o Dial *165#OK select option 7 to buy bundles and follow the prompts
o Dial *150*55# and follow the prompts to select Mobile Money payment option
o Using the MyMTN app
There is no limit to where you can use the MTN Unlimited Internet within Uganda. You can use the service wherever MTN has internet coverage, off the countrywide 4G LTE, 3G and 2G networks. You are, therefore, able to stay online at home, as you work in your office or in the field, as you travel within Uganda or as you visit your village.
You can also activate and use MTN Unlimited Internet on your mobile phone. In case you have a 4G LTE smartphone or device, MTN recommends that you also swap your old MTN SIM card to a FREE 4G LTE SIM card from any MTN service center to enjoy the 4G network too. MTN in addition will give you an instant 3GB FREE as soon as you swap your card.
