These are the licensed Public Infrastructure Providers in Uganda’s Telecommunication sector

There are three main types of licenses that the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) gives out to potential investors in Uganda’s telecommunication sector. The first is the Public Infrastructure Providers (PIP) license and the other is the Public Service Providers (PSP) license. The PSP category also includes Voice and Data PSP license and Capacity Resale PSP license.  The PIP license is the license required to set up and operate infrastructure facilities in Uganda. Infrastructure includes construction of telecommunication towers, lying of fiber optic cable, etc. This infrastructure is basically used to provide services to public or for re-sell to a third-party. Today, we look at the 22 companies and government institutions that have been licensed by UCC to operate as Public Infrastructure Providers in Uganda.
