It is the time of the year when smartphones make a walk through the aisle of discounts. Jumia’s annual Mobile week is the best time to do virtual window shopping for a new phone to own, one to wrap as a gift, as well as accessories to add to your collection.
Like in the past years, the launch of the mobile week is always accompanied by the company’s Mobile White Paper that depicts insights into the mobile trends across the country and the continent over the past year. This year’s Mobile Report has been released as well.
What to expect from the 2019 Jumia Mobile Week
The promotional campaign will run from April 8th to 21st, offering customers exclusive discounts on smartphone products ranging from Tecno, Infinix, itel, Samsung, Apple, and other branded accessories as availed on the Jumia website.
Jumia acknowledges the sale of low quality products in the past campaigns, and the brand assures consumers that this Mobile Week will only accommodate products that have at least a year’s guarantee from the reseller.
The lowest prices
Usually, mobile week campaigns are all about discounts, and this should not be any different. Some of the products to expect include ‘the lowest priced 4G smartphone’, the Redmi Go which will go for just UGX 269,000!
Jumia Uganda’s Chief Commercial Officer – Manon Salamon revealed that this will be a lot above the cheapest smartphone priced at UGX 115,000 and the cheapest feature phone going for as low as UGX 50,000.
You will be able to pay for any of the products via MTN Mobile Money, cash on delivery, or bank transfer.
Same day delivery
People want to get what they order for on that exact day, and Jumia seems ready to do exactly that. They have tried it in the past, easily scaling between 2 and 6 days of delivery upon order, but the CEO believes the company can deliver items within Kampala on the same day.
We at least know that Jumia has a warehouse in the Industrial Area, and have known of delivery of orders before 2pm making it on the same day. This can be possible in this campaign.
Product Insurance
Jumia is introducing the ability for you to insure your purchased product, so that in case of a loss, damage or theft, you can get it back in full. The partnership, which involves Liberty Insurance Company, will see clients get up to a year’s cover on any product off Jumia for just a cost of 2% of the product’s value.
Otherwise, you can still return a product that you don’t like within 7 days after receipt, and Jumia is certain that all the products available in the mobile week will have at least a year’s guarantee
Treasure hunts and vouchers
It won’t be a Jumia mobile week if there are no treasure hunts or vouchers to be won at some point. As long as you keep your tabs on the site or the Jumia app, you can be sure to get yourself one of the freebies.
Actually, Jumia promises to hand out an iPhone 7 to a lucky customer.
