The P-Line is itel’s battery centric line of smartphones. We say this because we at least have the P51 well documented here. The itel P32 is the most likely successor to the P51 (Forgive the numeric branding) and we hope it can improve on where the latter left off steadfast into what we have come to expect of a smartphone in 2018.
Not to say the P51 was a bad device but given this is 2018, there is a lot we have seen in new smartphones ever since the year began in terms of design, software, cameras not forgetting the battery since its the most outstanding feature of the P-Line. Therefore, the P32 better deliver on these.
Itel Mobile has been teasing about this device for quite sometime and here are our top expectation of the itel P32.
A Full Display
2018 has made Full Displays universal and they’re common sights this year than before. We anticipate the itel P32 to come with a 5.5 Inch 18:9 Full Display, just to rhyme with the trends. Full Displays are known to shrink bezels off large displays to manageable sizes without tradeoffs, making devices sleek and comfortable to hold.
It will come with Android Go
Android Go is specifically for budget handsets and most probably the P32 will fall in this category. These handsets normally have 1GB of RAM or less and if we add that we anticipate the device to max it with 8GB of ROM, all this answers the memory questions.
Back to Android Go, this version of Android specifically the Oreo flavor comes with its set of Go Apps like Gmail, YouTube etc and these well optimized to run smoothly even on low powered devices, are as fast and consume less data.
A massive battery but of what size?
The P-Line’s major selling point has always been bigger batteries and we anticipate the itel P32 to continue with this formula. Say 5000mAh or 4000mAh? Yes, our guess rotates around those figures and with the less power hungry Android One on board, this device might have a good standby time of at least 3 – 5 days. Let us stick to 3 days at least, given this is largely dependant on usage than any other variable.
Dual-Rear Cameras
We don’t want to bring comparisons but 2018 has also been a year of dual cameras and you think the itel P32 will miss out on them? Think again. We project it to have a dual camera setup for portrait photos.
This is a contentious area but our guess is that the primary shooter will be a combination headlined by a 5MP shooter and anything in-between.
A fingerprint scanner
The itel A32F is among the few devices that fingerprints available to everyone and the P32 won’t miss one either. We at least know what fingerprints do that is unlock the phones, open apps, take photos etc and all these will carry over to the itel P32 as well.
What about pricing?
Given the above spec sheet and what we could possibly have missed out, the itel P32 could cost around UGX 320,000 – UGX 350,000 once available on the Ugandan market.
