Infinix Note 6 Unboxing and First Impressions

A digital age commands a digital life. The invention of smart devices like the Infinix Note that accept input off smart pens is an inspiration to the generations that saw a lot of such in sci-fi movies and series.

So is the Infinix Note 6 – premium, classy, yet simple and affordable. The Note 6 comes in to succeed the Infinix Note 5 released last year.  One key difference that awaited us was the switch from Android One on the Note 5 to the Android Pie on the 6, as well as the slimmer body build Infinix promised us.

We received the new Note smartphone and did a thorough unboxing to ascertain what it is like.

    The first impressions

The Infinix Note 6 goes over the bar with an amazing combination of cool hardware and effective software and it does impress on first touch. The phone comes with a smooth back, a triple camera array, a fingerprint scanner and some interesting specifications on it altogether.

    What we like

There are always specifications that grasp your attention at first sight. On the Note 6, the following are an amazing job done by Infinix.

X-Pen: One unique thing about Note devices is always the stylus pen that comes with it, a key differentiation from the ordinary gadgets. On the Infinix phone, you can use the X-Pen to create a note, write a memo, view files, take screenshots, do some painting, among other things.

Slim design: Yes, the Infinix Note 6 is really slim. This makes it holdable in your palms with ease, while easily a fitting in pant pockets and side bag zippers. To the slender build, Infinix managed to make the device a lot lighter and easier to move about with.

Battery: A full charge of the Note 6 can only mean usage of more than just a day. The Infinix gadget does have a lot of intelligent tech packed in it to ensure that you never run out of battery when you need it most. You have the ability to put to rest whichever app drains the battery most, and can surely manage to use the phone even when below 5%.

Performance: It is a powerhouse. This is evident with the load of game apps that come pre-installed and how swift the device is when playing them. With a 4 GB RAM tag to it, you can’t fail to be confident that the Note 6’s performance is to the level you can ask of it.

We shall go into detail of each of these aspects and even more in our review of the device.

    What we don’t like

Still at first sight, we had some motes to make on what didn’t really impress us. There are things we expected Infinix to add to the new Note, as well as others to be ruled out, but our expectations were not satisfied.

No Notch: The trend for most all the newly announced smartphones has been the notch – coming in various shapes and forms. The Note 6 forgets all this and comes with the usual screen. No wonder the display size is a mere 6.01 inches, less than the ‘standard’ 6.2 on majority of the mid-rangers on the market.

Instant Apps: When you swipe up, or tap the button, to view the apps in alphabetical order, you can’t fail to notice the ‘Instant Apps’ above the listed apps. These appear like ads set there to consume your mobile data and unnecessary tapping can lead you into uncalled for costs.

Pop-up Ads: The same grumbling can be shared with pop-ads that keep cropping up in the name of the X-club. We already have shared our sentiments a lot on the pre-installed apps that we have always found on Infinix devices. We won’t say this again.
