    Huawei Uganda launches the P8 smartphone

    [blockquote right=”pull-left”][/blockquote] After a long wait seeing other regions enjoy the best of Huawei, that being it’s  flagship handset dubbed the P8, today saw it’s grand entry into Uganda’s smartphone market. Huawei Uganda launches the P8 smartphone together with the biggest telcom MTN at a fan packed event that was also graced by ICT Minister Nyombi Thembo and Chinese Ambassador H.E Zhao Yali at Kampala Serena Hotel.

    The 5.2inch Full HD slab clad in aluminum finish is powered by Huawei’s in house 64bit 8 core Hisilicon Kirin 930 Soc, running on 3GB of RAM with 16GB of ROM expandable via a microSD slot, which doubles as a SIM slot are the top specifications you can ask for in any Android phone nowadays. The phone runs Huawei’s Emotion UI atop Android 5.0. And it features a spectacular 13MP camera at the back with an 8MP secondary camera at the front, both capable of FullHD video recording. We we’re told it will come in three variants; with a more compact model dubbed the P8 Lite whereas its real estate cousin will be christened the P8 Max. 

    Huawei Uganda has  partnered with MTN Uganda, the latter having launched its 4G network country-wide which the P8 supports out of the box. This initiative will see MTN sell the P8 at in all its outlets at a cost of UGX 1,590,000 which makes it cheaper by UGX 100,000 compared to the competition . Huawei P8 Launch in Uganda2
