Huawei is in high gear and almost ready to roll-out its awaited new smartphone mobile operating system (OS) called Hongmeng, after Google cut them off future Android development, thanks to Trump’s government ban. Despite the 90-day period given by the US government for American companies to still work with Huawei, the company is not taking chances and is working on its plan B in full force.
Although, Google has also recently come out to share its security concerns on Huawei’s self-developed OS, this has not stopped the Chinese giant from speeding up in the direction of launching its own OS. It looks like the launch is going to happen very soon and still the company is yet to confirm the trademarked name.
New reports indicate that that Huawei has filed the “HongMeng” trademark applications in almost every possible intellectual property organizations around the globe. Huawei has already registered Hongmeng trademark at China’s Trademark Office of national intellectual property administration, that was approved on May 14, 2019, and expiry date of May 13, 2019.
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., has filed trademark registration application for “HongMeng” in the following countries:

Trademark filed with the related name has been categorized under a big list of subcategories including “Operating System”. Similar to the Chinese trademark application, these applications also indicate support for various platforms including Notebooks, Smartphones, Tablets, SmartWatches, Wearables, IoT and many more.
There could be more countries that have not been looked at but it’s worth noting that some websites have been reporting the “ARK OS” trademark on any other regions than Europe. But, there is no concrete evidence on using other rumored trademark names likes Oak OS.
