Samsung has announced a revolution – the world’s first phone with four cameras at the back. At least we had seen the triple camera devices, and were sure it would be the next generation to look forward to. But the company has beaten the odds and hitched four rear cams – on a mid-range Galaxy A9.
The new Galaxy comes just after the brand’s first triple camera phone, the Galaxy A7 (2018), and has been launched at the Galaxy A event in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The phone boasts a 6.3-inch Infinity display, four rear cameras, and a “powerful selfie camera.”

The Cameras
The first is a 120° ultra-wide angle camera which sports an 8MP sensor. It has an Intelligent Scene Optimizer that automatically adjusts the camera settings based on the scene.
The second is a telephoto camera which offers 2x optical zoom over the main camera and captures 10MP images. The third is the main camera, a 24MP sensor with a bright f/1.7 lens, the best for shooting during daylight and nighttime.

The fourth is a 5MP depth sensor for shots with artificial bokeh while the front selfie camera is 24MP. The company says the cameras on Galaxy A9 are backed by Samsung’s own Artificial Intelligence (AI) camera software.
We shall wait to see whether the feature will be added to a flagship phone as well, given the fact that Samsung usually reserves the best for the more expensive devices.
Besides the camera, it holds in it a Snapdragon 660 processor running on 6GB of RAM and a 3,800mAh battery. An internal memory of 128GB, a microSD card slot that supports up to 512GB of external memory, a 3.5mm headphone jack and side-mounted fingerprint scanner are some of the additional specs.
