How to send a call me back message on MTN, Airtel and Africell

Since social media happened and many other texting options, majority of us have discarded the option of sending a call me back message especially when almost everything is a swipe away. To me, this is still one of the most important feature mobile telecom companies have managed to carry into the era of smartphone and you should definitely check it out in case you haven’t been using it.

It’s a go-to feature when you’ve exhausted all of your available options and totally desperate to communicate something vital and have no airtime, the upside with it though is, you can use it on any type of phone including a feature katochi phone. The idea and possibility of you using this service might be a little abstract at the moment but believe me, I have been down that journey before where all you’ve left in your cabinet is a “call me back” message to save you the day. So hey, let me be your saviour for that day and show you how to send a “call me back” message on all the popular Ugandan voice mobile lines.

    MTN Uganda

They might be the leaders in mobile money services but the company also has a fleet of other services including the “call me back” message to help you. To access this service you have to dial *160*5*7# to get to the welcome page where you reply with the phone number you would like to send a message to.

Then You’ll either choose the first option with a simple note message or option 2 which gives you a list of available messages to choose from.

Keep in mind MTN only gives the allowance to send only 6 “call me back” messages in a day so you’ve to use it sparingly.

    Airtel Uganda

The smartphone network has a lot of questionable services they provide including their 100% countrywide 4G coverage. However, what I can assure though is their call me back service works perfectly fine and you can send an unlimited number of messages in a day. To get started you Dial *100*7*7# and enter the phone number you would like to send a message to.

    Africell Uganda

The king of the bundles are one of the pioneers in this department and I am really impressed with their message since it is a little more detailed and more customized with the message. To get started you have to dial *100*2# OK and follow prompts to send a call me back message. Remember you can only send a message when you have Airtime below 200UGX.
