Today Facebook has reached a new big step forward, not only has it answered questions why it has to buy Virtual reality company Oculus, but has also entangled it’s self heavily into developing software for mobile devices. With up to 1 billion active monthly users of its apps, up from 945 million in December, Facebook can now say they are on a growing path.

According to CEO Zuckerberg on a conference call, Instagram now has more than 200 million users, which is twice the amount it had when it was first acquired in 2012. The figure represents a salubrious growth for the photo-sharing network, which Facebook has thankfully developed mostly independently since the acquisition. With the success of Instagram under Facebook, more we are likely to see more companies hope onto the Facebook acquisition bandwagon just like Oculus rift.
